September 28th 2002, OSCA Event #1 make up race day at Toronto Motorsports Park.
This race day was a re-schedule of the July race (Event #1) eliminations that were not completed due to weather conditions.

After getting to the track around 10 o'clock in the morning, we were told that we would have a single time trial pass to gauge how the cars were running that day.

It was a very busy day at the track with bracket racers competing for their points championship, test and tune guy's just running their cars to see how fast they could go and us OSCA racers with our 9 classes.

It was approximately 1 p.m. before we got our time trial run in and the car ran good, pulling out an 11.98 @ 112.25 mph. We're right there.

I was anxious to see who I would be up against in the first round of eliminations when the ladder was posted in the tower and I found out I'd get a buy run. At least I'd be guaranteed to get to the next round!!

Again the wait for first round was horrendous to say the least, after 5 hours, around 6:30 p.m. we were called to the lanes.

I decided I'd go all out because I had a buy run and it wouldn't matter if I broke out or not. I staged the car, loaded the converter and at the hint of the amber, I stompped on the throttle and went through the gears till I was buzzin at the finish line. The car responded with an 11.891 @ 113.31 mph which was terrific, plus I automaticaly advanced to the second round.

One of the reasons the wait was so long was that we had three very serious crashes where thankfully, all drivers were unhurt. The OSCA race officials decided to postpone the rest of the race until October 19th race weekend, because it seemed that only the right lane was working as all crashes occured in the left lane.
